The practical manual for the B. Sc. (Agriculture) course “Pests of Crops and Stored Grain and Their Management” has been compiled following the prescribed syllabus of the revised ICAR Fifth Dean Committee. The manual would provide basic knowledge about the different types of insect pests infesting crops in the field and in storage, their nature of damage, life cycle and their management to the undergraduate students of Agriculture. Familiarized with identification of different insect pest of field, horticulture, ornamentals, vegetables and stored grains at the field level. Understand how insects affect animal and Plant health and agricultural production, and be able to safely manipulate populations of beneficial and destructive species in habitats and in production agroecosystems with minimal environmental impact. The farmers’ major problem is the insect pests of crops and their control. The students will be taught in such a way that they will be able to identify the insect pest, diagnose the symptom and advocate the necessary remedial measures. The student will feel confident to address the insect pest problems of farmers both under field and storage conditions so that immediate steps can be taken up by the stakeholders to keep the pest population under check and to avoid significant crop damage. We are confident that this practical manual would be helpful as a handy reference to understand the basic principles and methodology of the experiments. It is my prerogative to thank Prof. J. S.
